SAFETY

Skaters joining group skates should be able to turn and brake.

Most group skates will be in a large group, skating through the bike lanes of publics streets and alongside cars. Be prepared for changes in road quality, traffic situations, and hills.

Complete beginners are welcome to join rink skating sessions where they can practice techniques on a smooth flat surface.

ALWAYS look before crossing traffic and pay attention to street surfaces, hills, cross traffic, and those skating around you. It isn’t safe to assume that traffic will stop. Skate with caution.

Bring proper clothing, sunblock, safety gear, lights for the night skates, and water to stay hydrated.

Skaters are required to sign the waiver prior to joining the event, waiver can be found on our website by clicking the “Safety/Waiver” link on the site menu.

The routes are planned for inline and quad skaters but we welcome others on different forms of transportation as well. And of course, have fun!

*DTLA night skate is not family-friendly. It is an adventurous way to see downtown and is intended for advanced skaters.*
