LODGING

Los Angeles is vast with many options for lodging and adventure! We recommend staying in an Airbnb or a hotel for the Big Avocado Roll. Book ahead of time to get the best selection.

Most of our events will be in the Santa Monica, Mar Vista, and Downtown areas. If you don’t have a car, choose a place that’s close to a train or bus. Or plan on taking an Uber/Lyft/Taxi, but beware peak pricing and frequent traffic jams. Carpooling is encouraged.

TRANSPORTATION

Public transportation is available from Santa Monica to Downtown Los Angeles via Metro’s Expo line, which is a light rail system. To use the train, purchase a TAP card at the train station and scan before boarding. The train now goes all the way to Santa Monica!

Another popular option is to Lyft or Uber around the city. Los Angeles is known for its spectacular traffic jams. Add extra time to your commutes to make sure you arrive on time.

Los Angeles has several personal electric vehicle rental options including electric bicycles and scooters. We recommend day passes if you are planning multiple trips to save money.

If renting a car plan in extra time for finding a spot, parking restrictions, traffic jams, freeway closures, etc. Also, bring your driving spirit! Driving in LA can be fun and exciting.

FLIGHTS

LAX. It’s closest to the Big Avocado Roll events and generally has the best pricing. Ubers & Lyfts are available at specific locations in the airport. The Flyaway Bus can also help get you where you are going for an affordable price, depending on where you are staying.
